NYC Unveils 9/11 Memorial Hole: "Days before the fifth anniversary of the destruction of New York's World Trade Center by terrorists, city officials gathered on the site where the Twin Towers once stood to dedicate the newly completed 9/11 Memorial Hole.

'From the wreckage and ashes of the World Trade Center, we have created a recess in the ground befitting the American spirit,' said New York Governor George Pataki from a cinderblock-and-plastic-bucket-supported plywood platform near the Hole's precipice. 'This vast chasm, dug at the very spot where the gleaming Twin Towers once rose to the sky, is a symbol of what we can accomplish if we work together.'"

I said to a fellow office worker the other day that I thought it a disgrace that five years after the attacks there is still nothing but a hole in the ground where the towers once stood. That was before I read this article. Now I'm just plain ashamed, for all involved.

Each one of these things has a person in a wetsuit strapped inside of it and they go rolling down Fitzsimmons Creek like a hamster in a ball. One of them was a woman who was screaming and laughing hysterically. Tell me that doesn't sound like fun.

This was taken from a scenic lookout alongside the Sea to Sky Highway, the road between Vancouver and Whistler.

The beauty of the area is beyond description. Along with beautiful mountain ranges like this there are alpine meadows and lakes the color of turquoise.

We went to the Chinatown Night Market on our second day in Vancouver. One of the vendors was selling these...things. I'm not sure what they're called but I loved all the red.

BSG: The Resistance

SciFi is airing 10 webisodes of Battlestar Galactica in preparation for its October 6 season 3 premiere.

The series of short clips deals with the Resistance against the Cylon occupiers. You don't need to see these in order to be up to speed for season 3, but they will be helpful in laying the foundation for the story.
