Regarding those changes I was hinting about...

I'm starting a new blog.  This one won't be going anywhere, you will still be able to access all of the archived posts and I'm not sure I'm going to entirely abandon it just yet.  But as of right now, I will no longer be posting here.

The new blog is called My TV and Me, and the web address is http://mytvandme.wordpress.com.  As the blog title suggests, it will deal almost exclusively with television matters.   I would like to say that I decided to narrow the focus of the blog on my own, but in fact it's been happening for a while now. My online presence has become increasingly fractured by Facebook and Twitter - FB is where I post most of my photos and share funny videos and interesting news items with family and friends and Twitter, well, it's yet another diversion.  I have been a terrible blogger in recent months, and I'm hoping that starting all over, with a more specific focus, will light a fire under my ass.  It hasn't been an easy decision for me to make - I've had this blog since 2001 (!), and I'm not as fond of change as I would like to think I am - but I do believe it's time.  I chose Wordpress because of its behind-the-scenes functionality and cool designs.  And it's also free.

So, thank you for visiting thisisgina, whether this is the first time you've been here or you've been reading this blog for years.  Seriously, thank you :).

I'm playing around with my template, and added an image to the header section. I also changed the format of the body of the blog from "stretchy" - which expands to fit your screen - to a fixed width. Let me know if you have trouble seeing things.

They should pass a law that requires all vacations to be 2 weeks long. The world would be a much happier place.

I have lots and lots of photos to post, and lots and lots of work to catch up on, and lots and lots of TV to watch. It's good to be back and I hope you didn't miss me too much!

In my last post I told you to look for more posts from me, but I was just so busy that I didn't have the time. I wanted to talk about Harper's Island, and True Blood, and Warehouse 13...but you know how real life is.

I'll be away for 2 weeks, and when I get back I will catch up on the shows I mentioned - including watching what will have piled up on the DVR - and you know I'll have plenty of photos from the trip to share.

I'm back!

Well, I've returned from a wonderful and relaxing weekend in central Pennsylvania, where I had a long overdue visit with my best friend from college, and we drank a lot of beer by the campfire and then we sweated it all out by the pool.

Dell hasn't come to fix my laptop yet, so I'm still without a home computer for now. I feel so disconnected! There's no way for me to upload and share photos I've been taking, and I haven't seen the new Pushing Daisies or True Blood episodes so I can't even talk about that. :(

So, expect nothing but more drive-by, random posts like this...

The Summer Slump has arrived.

As usual, when summer begins things get quiet on this blog and I begin to post less. A lot of that has to do with the end of the regular TV season, but I'm also less focused during the summer and quite frankly, I'm just not around as much. Add to those things the fact that my laptop has been on the fritz for days - problems with the LCD screen and standby mode, it's totally unusable - and there hasn't really been that much going on here.

Just thought I'd let you know what's happening on my end. I may or may not be able to blog this weekend. It all depends on whether I can fix my laptop without having to send it out to Dell (I hope I can!).

In the meantime, I will start another book. It's amazing the amount of reading one can do when there's no Internet around. I read two books in as many weeks!

Limping Back.

Well, I'm back!  Sort of.

I still can't get my www.thisisgina.com domain to resolve to the Google DNS, and I still don't know what happened or why, so I've moved over to Blogger's Blogspot service for the time being.

If you found your way back here, please make note of the URL change and bookmark me so you can find me again.  I WILL resolve the DNS problems, eventually, and when I do, I'll post a heads up before I switch back.

Look in the sidebar - I made it using this really neat free service called Widgetbox. If you want a thisisgina widget for your web page, Myspace page, Facebook page, Google page or wherever you might want to put a widget (and really, who wouldn't want one?), just click on the "Get Widget" tab.

I removed the Valentine's Day poll before voting was finished because I felt the "massacre" option was in poor taste, considering recent events at Northern Illinois University.

I haven't been able to figure out how to point to a "missing files host" yet, so images that I have hosted myself will not load right now.

Also, I will hopefully have a Heroes post up today!

Success! (so far)

Finally, I have fixed my archives problem!! Yay! And at long last I am able to utilize the Labels feature offered by Blogger. I have a lot of work to do, adding labels to my old posts (over 4,000!), so please just consider it a work in progress. Soon, you'll be able to click on the "LOST" or "Heroes" labels and call up all of my recaps and posts regarding the shows. Or "Idol" or "photos" or "pugs"...it's like Christmas!

Hopefully all of this will add to your thisisgina reading experience, in a positive way :-).

I'm back with my old template. I have some serious issues with my blog and publishing, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle them. Mostly, my problem is obsolescense. Thisisgina has been around for a while and in order for me to be able to utilize some of the layout and blog management features (like labels) that are now available, I'm going to need to address the way I host and publish my blog. And there's the problem of my archives not publishing since March.

It's a daunting task that's going to take a lot of time and research and support, so please bear with me as I try to bring this thing up to date. Thanks!
