By-the-way, Happy New Year!

I say it again: H-O-T.

So have you all heard about the big Gerard Butler dog fight that went down in NYC the other day? I hadn't until I came across this article. Apparently, Butler's pug was not leashed and it ran over to a greyhound who was, and then the greyhound attacked the pug and he had to separate them and the greyhound's owners are saying he assaulted their dog. Okaaaayyy. Yes, his dog should have been on a leash, but she spent 3 hours at the vet getting patched up, so I'd say he had no choice but to get rough with the dogs.

But none of this is important...What I want to point out is: Gerard Butler has a PUG, people. A pug!! Like he wasn't attractive enough already.

ETA: And one more thing. Do you really think he helped those people with their vet bill (bottom of article), or is that just a publicist spin job?

Marty had to go to the hospital last night. He has bladder stones, and one was causing a blockage. He had his surgery today - I believe he had all of the stones removed - and he is resting comfortably at the vet's.

I can't wait until he comes home tomorrow!

This is a sad excuse for a 52 weeks photo, but it's the best I can do, and it will have to act as a placeholder for now.

Because of my current computer woes, I had to take this with my phone and e-mail it to my sister so I could upload it from her computer (wouldn't work from my phone for some reason). I felt I HAD to post something since I had missed the week before and I will miss this week, too (going away tomorrow for a few days).

What a face, huh?

You can never feed a pug fast enough.

All in all, this was pretty low-key. I'll see if I can catch them when they're REALLY hysterical.

Watching television in our house can be an unsettling experience. You see, Mickey barks at animals he sees on the TV. Not just dogs. Every animal. Horses, cats...anything with four legs. Even animated animals. He comes running from the other room when he hears the opening notes of Lady GaGa's "Poker Face" video because he knows there are two Great Danes in the beginning who need to be reminded of who the boss is around here.

Here we see Mickey watching Elvis' "Blue Hawaii", looking for the dog he just heard barking.

We haven't been able to watch Animal Planet in over 2 years.

I'm not sure if anyone is reading this anymore - if you are, thank you! - but I just thought I'd peek in and say that I'm still buried in work. And sick with a cold that I'm still trying to shake. The audit is scheduled for Thursday, February 19, and once that's done, I will have my life back, such as it is, and I'll have more time to post.

In the meantime, Mickey has been keeping me company, curling up under a blanket next to me on my bed. He will NOT be happy when I'm finished.

I love how the dog stands and waits, as if it's taunting the baby, until the child is just about to grab it, and then slowly walks away.

I can imagine scenes like this in our house very soon!
