Prince Albert takes over in Monaco.

They let him out of the can, I see.

Just beat it.

Yay!

HBO Renews 'Deadwood' for Third Season.

How long will we have to wait, I wonder?

Terri Schiavo has died.

She's found peace at last, I hope. Maybe we'll all have a little peace now.

Woman gives birth in car before police pull her over at gunpoint: "'She caught that baby, put it to her chest, gave me a look, like, 'I gotta go,' closed the door, put the van in gear and away she went.'"

OK, that's funny.

Patrick Kennedy Will Not Run for Senate: "In a statement, Kennedy did not cite family responsibilities as a reason for his decision, but he and his brother and sister recently took temporary guardianship of his mother to ensure she receives treatment for her alcoholism. Patrick Kennedy was seeking to become her permanent legal guardian."

I guess I didn't realize Joan was as far gone as she is.

Which Johnny Depp are you?

You Are Ed Wood From "Ed Wood."

You definitely have your name in history, although probably not for the reason you believe. Yet you are very accepting, non-judgemental, and optimistic almost to a fault. You also have a thing for angora sweaters. How could anyone not like you?

Take The Johnny Depp Quiz!
Joan Kennedy hospitalized with broken bones: "Joan Kennedy, the former wife of Massachusetts Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, is in the hospital recuperating from a concussion and a broken shoulder after a passer-by found her lying in a street, according to her son."

Yikes. I wonder what happened to her? She was probably drunk, unfortunately, but did she get hit by a car? Get beat up? Again, yikes.

Don't. Get. Eliminated!

I am Vic Romano!
You're Vic Romano! You're almost always calm and
cool, but sometimes you'll get a little angry.

Which MXC Character are you?

Brought to you by Quizilla

So here's my question: When the hell are they going to put this show on DVD?

Be F*cked! The Quotes Thread

Al: "I have just fled my own office in horror at his fucking dimwittedness."

TWoP Forum for the best Deadwood quotes.

How about:

EB: "August beginning to my adiministration. Being locked outside standing next to a degenerate tit-licker"

Or perhaps this exchange:

Calamity Jane: “I'm calling on the widow and the little one in her care, and if I was you I wouldn't try to stop me."

EB Farnum: "Be brief."

Calamity Jane: "Be Fucked!"

EB Farnum: "Her gutter mouth, and the widow in an opium stupor. A conversation for the ages.”

Makes me laugh right out loud.

There are just too many to choose from.

Chili Con Finger

Officials: Diner finds finger in chili: "'This individual apparently did take a spoonful, did have a finger in their mouth and then, you know, spit it out and recognized it,' said Ben Gale, director of the department of environmental health for Santa Clara County. 'Then they had some kind of emotional reaction and vomited.'"

Nooo, really?

Drive-by Review

Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason - Only so-so, definitely not as good as the first, which wasn't even as good as the audio version of the book, imo. I think it all comes down to my lack of love for Renee Zellwegger. Still, I think Edge of Reason could have been a lot better, especially if they didn't make Bridget such a pathetic case. The director (a woman) must have some serious self-hate issues. Colin and Hugh are very cute, as is the interview between Bridget and Colin Firth, included in the extras.

Beating a dead horse, so to speak.

The man behind "Deadwood": "David Milch talks about turning the sanitized Hollywood western on its head with foul-mouthed misfits and miscreants who, no matter how vile, are touched by the divine."

I'll get you to watch this show if it's the last thing I do.

(viewing of ad required for day pass)

Look at what this fight is doing to these poor people.

Please, just let her go, for everyone's sake.

'Alone' at the top.

I've been watching American Idol this season, enough to know who I like (Bo, Carrie, Nadia) and who I don't (Constantine, Mikhala), so I wanted to just make a quick comment about last night's show.

Bo is still my favorite, but when Carrie started belting out the chorus of Heart's 'Alone', she nearly won me over. I've still got goosebumps thinking about it. (the hair has got to go though, honey)

Oh COME ON.

Enough already:

Mar 23: Rain and snow this evening, becoming all snow overnight. Snow may be heavy at times. Low around 30F. Winds NE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precip 90%. 6 to 10 inches of snow expected.

Drive-by Review

The Manchurian Candidate - Fair for a thriller, but pales in comparison to the original. Acting was above-average on all counts, but the screenplay was too cluttered and not enough time was spent on Raymond (Schrieber). Worth the rental, but if you're going to rent anything, see the 1962 original with Lawrence Harvey, Frank Sinatra and an evil evil Angela Lansbury.

The Schiavo Case.

I suppose I should weigh in on this with my opinion. I'll keep it short and sweet - there are enough gasbags out there with something to say on this.

This should never have gone on as long as it has. It is a private matter, and not a right-to-life issue. It is certainly not the business of the federal government. Congress, I think, could find other things to spend their time on. The President should know better. The courts have decided, over and over again, in favor of the husband. Case closed. Let the poor woman go.

It might be time to get that Living Will in order.

Life imitates art again.

Life: "Prosecutors are investigating the death of a man who was subdued by several fellow airline passengers after he became disruptive on a New York-bound flight, a spokesman said Sunday."

Art.

Drive-by Reviews

Shaun of the Dead - Funniest movie I have seen in years. Great take on a classic horror movie, and still managed to have some truly scary moments mixed into the fun. Need to buy, I think.

The Incredibles - Did buy, and very glad about it. Wonderful movie, with a theme (the evils of mediocrity) I found personally appealing. See this movie!
