While its themes are somewhat heavy - racism, intolerance - Aliens in America was overall pretty light and fluffy. And funny. If you watched the preview I posted the other day, you've basically seen the pilot. Except they recast the father for some reason and that was very distracting.
I liked it, it reminded me of Wonder Years, and I look forward to seeing more.
