I think it could be done very well, and I think with the passage of a little more time, the idea of a movie will be even more attractive to her.

I hope it does come to fruition. To see Spike and Giles on the big screen, well, one can dream. lol
Um, I am no expert or anything, never having watched a single episode, But didn't the series START from a movie?
I saw (part of)the movie, never had any interest in watching the series after that.
Besides, I am not a big baseball fan, a series about Umpires just had no appeal ;)

Yeah, they started with a movie, but it was a BAD movie. And it was exclusively about her learning that she's the Slayer. The show sort of took over the storyline after that point.
I'm not sure what a new movie would be about, but I would wager that they would pick up the story where it ended with the show's finale.
