Their intelligence and emotional maturity is astounding. The loss of their innocence is heartbreaking. A young girl remembered how she prayed to God to "save us all, please. ... He saved those he could manage to save, and the ones he couldn't, he kept with him. He kept the best. The most beautiful ones died." I am amazed at the lengths we will go to hurt one another.
