A Lutheran minister and Special Ed teacher lied about volunteering with his National Guard unit to aid Katrina victims in order to attend a religious conference in Brazil:

"Thomas, 55, told the Daily News last night that his troubles began when he fell off a ladder last year in his church, St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran, and didn't get mental health care afterward."

Unless he fell on top of a group of toddlers, crushing them all to death, I ain't buying it.
