Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz has made his decision: "'The fans have been so ardent in their devotion and in return ... I've given everything I can to the show in order to try to live up to their expectations,' Hurwitz told Daily Variety... 'I finally reached a point where I felt I couldn't continue to deliver that on a weekly basis.'"
Since the Showtime deal was contingent upon Hurwitz's involvement, there is no Showtime deal. Sigh. At least we have the DVDs. And there's the small blessing that the possibility of them messing with the show and ruining a good thing, or of it out-staying its welcome, no longer exists. Right?
